When doocs/md is the right answer
You write occasionally, by hand, in a browser, and a large open-source editor with live preview fits perfectly. It is a great free tool and we do not claim otherwise.
When mdnice fits
Your bottleneck is styling choices, not automation — you want many ready themes and a friendly editor.
When md2wechat earns its place
Your content pipeline already has an agent in it. You want stable JSON discovery (md2wechat capabilities --json), 48 themes via one theme id, advanced layout modules, generated covers, and an explicit, auditable draft flow with multi-account and fixed-egress support. That is a different job from manual pasting — see Quickstart and Publishing API.
The honest bottom line
If a free web editor solves your problem, use one. md2wechat exists for the publishing pipeline problem: repeatable, agent-driven, side-effect-aware. Try both lanes before deciding — features lays out the boundary.
